OECD annual inflation rate up to 2.2% in September 2012
30/10/2012 - Annual inflation in the OECD area rose by 2.2% in the year to September 2012, up from 2.1% in the year to August 2012. This slight increase in the annual rate of inflation was driven by higher energy prices which accelerated to 5.1% in September, up from 3.5% in August, while food price inflation slowed to 2.1% in September, compared with 2.2% in August. Excluding food and energy, the OECD annual inflation rate slowed to 1.6% in September 2012 compared with 1.7% in August.
