OECD annual inflation picks up to 1.8% in June 2013

30/07/2013 - Consumer prices in the OECD area rose by 1.8% in the year to June 2013 compared with 1.5% in the year to May 2013. This increase in the annual rate of inflation was driven by higher energy and food prices. Energy prices increased by 3.4% in the year to June compared with 0.5 % in May. Food price inflation was 2.2% in the year to June compared with 1.9% in May. Excluding food and energy, the OECD annual inflation rate slowed to 1.4% in June, compared with 1.5% in May.
