Since September 2010, a series of regional workshops has focussed on sharing experiences with country-led division of labour and discussing strategies on the road to HLF-4. In both the first two workshops held in Africa, around 50 government, civil society and development partner representatives held open and constructive discussions about progress and challenges of DoL in the context of the broader aid effectiveness agenda. Country ownership and leadership were reconfirmed as key elements of successful DoL strategies
The recent regional workshop for Latin America, hosted by SEPLAN (Ministry of Planning and External Cooperation) in Honduras, brought together about 45 government, civil society and development partner representatives. Discussions focussed on the special situation of Latin American Middle-Income Countries which increasingly face donor exits. In this context, the workshop also discussed South-South Cooperation, both from a provider and receiver perspective. Government representatives decided to continue the regional dialogue on DoL issues.
A workshop for Asia may be held in Bangkok, Thailand in September 2011 in conjunction with a preparatory event for HLF4. More information soon.

The WP-EFF and the EU/EC have emerged as the main fora for support for division of labour processes.
Uganda and Germany co-chair the Task Team on Division of Labour and Complementarity (TT DoL) which includes over 50 individual members from partner and donor countries or agencies. Priority areas of work include:
- supporting the dissemination and implementation of the Good Practice Principles
- incorporating division of labour into the third round of Paris Declaration Monitoring Survey and the second phase of the Paris Declaration Evaluation
- facilitating the dialogue on cross-country (international) DoL stipulated in the Accra Agenda Action
The EU's Fast Track Initiative (FTI) currently focuses its support on about 30 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe. Fourteen EU member states and the EC are active as either lead or supporting facilitators.
This page contains general documents on both initiatives and related events. More information on the Task Team on DoL and EU Fast Track Initiative can be found on the separate page on monitoring, evaluation and research.
