4th meeting of the Latin American Roundtable Companies Circle took place in São Paulo, Brazil on 22 November 2006. The objectives of the meeting were to launch a new set of company case studies and to advance work on its practical guide to implementation of good corporate governance.
The 2006 meeting of the Latin American Corporate Governance Roundtable took place in Buenos Aires, Argentina on 22-23 June 2006 focusing on issues including the role of institutional investors, recent corporate governance initiatives by stock exchanges, and corporate governance of non-listed companies. The meeting was held back-to-back with a meeting of the Roundtable's Companies Circle, which held a special dialogue with institutional investors.
The Companies Circle held its second meeting on 22 November 2005 in São Paolo, Brazil, to launch the publication of eight company case studies on their experience with and the impact of their corporate governance reforms.
The 6th meeting of the Latin American Corporate Governance Roundtable was held in Lima, Peru, on 20-21 September 2005. The Roundtable reviewed progress in implementing the recommendations of the Latin American White Paper on Corporate Governance, considered emerging practices in strengthening enforcement, and experience in improving board effectiveness. Participants also exchanged experience regarding the relevance of the new OECD Guidelines on State-Owned Enterprises in the Latin American context. The meeting was co-hosted by Peru's Securities and Exchange Commission (CONASEV), the Lima Stock Exchange, and the National Confederation of Private Entrepreneurs (CONFIEP).
On 10 May 2005 in São Paulo, Brazil, the Roundtable launched a new Companies Circle. This is an initiative led by companies who have adopted best practices of corporate governance.
The 5th Meeting of the Latin American Corporate Governance Roundtable took place in Rio de Janerio, Brazil, 8-9 October 2004. The meeting, co-hosted by the Comissão de Valores Mobiliários (CVM), IBGC and Bovespa, focussed on increasing understanding and developing recommendations on key elements of enforcement, and agreeing on a programme to promote implementation of the White Paper as a whole, including active monitoring and review of progress.
The 4th Meeting of the Latin American Corporate Governance Roundtable, Santiago, Chile, 28-30 May 2003 . The meeting, co-hosted by the Chilean Superintendencia de Valores y Seguros (SVS), with the support of the Sociedad de Fomento Fabril, focussed on the finalisation of the White Paper on Corporate Governance in Latin America. In addition, there was a session dedicated to issues of enforcement.
The 3rd Meeting of the Latin American Corporate Governance Roundtable, Mexico City, Mexico, 8-10 April 2002, and focussed on the Board of Directors, Stakeholdersand Transparency and Disclosure.
The 2nd Meeting of the Latin American Corporate Governance Roundtable, Buenos Aires, Argentina, 28-30 March 2001. The Roundtable was co-hosted by the Argentinean Ministry of Economy, with the support of the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange, the Securities and Exchange Commission of Argentina and the Global Corporate Governance Forum.
The 1st Meeting of the Latin American Corporate Governance Roundtable, São Paulo, Brazil 26-28 April, 2000. The Roundtable was co-hosted by the São Paulo Stock Exchange (Bovespa) with the support of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Brazil (CVM) and the Brazilian Institute of Corporate Governance (IBGC).
