The OECD DAC Good Practice Guidance on Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA), published in 2006, provides a broad framework, steps and principles of SEA application across the full range of policies, plans and programmes (PPP). To supplement the Guidance, specific Advisory Notes have been prepared to provide guidance for practitioners and specialists on
i) how SEA can be used to address key emerging issues (like e.g. adaptation to climate change); and
ii) how to apply SEA under special or challenging circumstances (e.g. in post-conflict situations).
