OECD Economic Outlook Statistics and Projections - Online Database
The database includes the full set of historical statistics and projections underlying the OECD Economic Outlook publication. It provides approximately 4,000 macroeconomic time series for OECD countries and non-OECD zones, beginning as early as 1960 and extending to the end of the published forecast horizon, normally two years beyond the current date. It covers:
- Expenditure and GDP
- Deflators and Prices
- Government Accounts
- Household and Business Sector Accounts
- Labour Market Conditions
- Financial Data
- External Sector (including Trade, Balance of Payments and Competitiveness Indicators)
- Supply Block
- Oil and Commodities
The OECD Economic Outlook database permits a wide variety of analyses and statistical applications, e.g. for modelling and longer-term comparative and graphical analyses. Introduced in the 2004 database are quarterly data points which replaced the semi-annual data series.
New from previous editions is a comprehensive set of aggregates around the EURO. The euro data present a definitional break in 1991. In addition, most countries have changed to reporting national accounts data according to SNA93. Currently, only Switzerland and Turkey are still reporting in SNA68 definitions.
Starting with the June 2001 edition, the data set combines historical and forecast data in one file which also includes the formerly separate database Fiscal Positions and Business Cycles with detailed quantitative information on potential output and output gaps, on NAIRUs, on actual and cyclically-adjusted government revenues, outlays and balances, and on government financial liabilities. Annual and semi-annual data points are reported starting in 1960.
