Quarterly National Accounts

This periodical publication provides information on the main national accounts aggregates for all OECD Member countries which prepare national accounts on a quarterly basis (currently 22 Member countries) and on a selected number of aggregates for five groups of Member countries. Annual and quarterly data series are shown for the last 15 years.
Most OECD Member countries now compile national accounts on a quarterly basis. The OECD Secretariat has made quarterly estimates of the main aggregates for the few countries not preparing such accounts in order to be able to publish quarterly aggregates for OECD-Total, NAFTA, OECD-Europe, EU and the seven major countries of OECD (G7). The Czech Republic, Hungary, Korea and Poland however have not yet been included in the calculations. Data on the unified Germany is usually available starting with the third quarter 1990. Historical data on West Germany is provided until the fourth quarter of 1993 or 1994.
Each issue is divided into three parts:
- Part One: Three Standard Tables showing Gross Domestic Product by type of expenditure in US dollars, at current and constant prices, for each of the five country groups listed above. The quarterly figures are seasonally adjusted and are shown at annual rates. Data at both current and constant prices have been converted into dollars using GDP purchasing power parities.
- Part Two: Separate Sections for each country showing standard tables. All the series are based on each country's own system of national accounts. The most important divergences from the System of National Accounts (SNA), the reference system, have been indicated as far as possible in the notes at the end of each section. Data at constant prices are shown with the original base year used by the country concerned. To the extent that the data are available the following tables are included in each country section:
- Gross Domestic Product by type of expenditure, current prices and constant prices
- Gross Domestic Product by type of expenditure (implicit price indices) and gross domestic product by cost structure
- Gross Domestic Product by kind of activity, current prices and constant prices
- Financing and gross capital formation
- Composition of gross capital formation, current prices and constant prices
