Attached to the OECD as a semi-autonomous body, in particular to the Centre for Co-operation with Non-Members (CCNM), the SWAC is an international institution that approves its Work Plan by a Strategy and Policy Group (SPG), the Club’s Board of Directors.

   SPG Members

The SPG is comprised of representatives from contributing countries with the participation of West African countries as well as the main regional partner institutions and networks.

The SPG is chaired by a personnality nominated by the SPG members for a three-year period. Mr. Charles Goerens, former Minister of Co-operation, Humanitarian Action and Defence of Luxembourg has taken up this function since 1 January 2006.

   SPG Meetings

The SPG meets twice a year (thematic meeting held in a West African country by June/July and a strategic and administrative/ budgetary meeting held in an OECD country at the beginning of each year) to examine the work accomplished and to approve the SWAC’s multi-year work plan.
