Partners in Africa
Anchoring the Club’s action in realities on the ground is one of the SWAC’s key priorities. Following the SPG’s recommendations, the SWAC will continue to strengthen its relationships with political authorities in West African countries and their representatives in France and other OECD member countries. These authorities and representatives are involved in some of the SWAC’s activities and are kept informed of ongoing activities within their respective country or region. To ensure a permanent link to West African realities, the SWAC regularly organises information meetings with representatives of the West African diplomatic community. Building on its field-level activities, the SWAC has developed partnerships with local networks and organisations in West Africa. The SWAC also aims to reinforce institutional partnerships with its strategic regional partners, in particular the CILSS, ROPPA and ECOWAS.

Partners in OECD Member Countries
As a facilitator, moderator and leader of open constructive exchanges, the SWAC plays a bridging role between West African actors and OECD countries. It participates actively along with its donors within the SWAC’s Strategy and Policy Group (SPG), in the identification of strategic questions concerning the medium- and long-term development of the region, the mobilisation and strengthening of African capacities within the framework of its network and information-sharing approach. Within the OECD, as an active member of the OECD’s Development Cluster, the SWAC contributes to the OECD’s work on development and strengthens its collaboration with other relevant OECD Directorates.

International Partner Organisations
The SWAC works in close collaboration with other international organsiations and their field offices in West Africa that are involved with many SWAC events in the region. Regular exchanges of experience and information-sharing also contribute to a better co-ordination of field-level activities. Some organisations contribute to funding the SWAC’s activities or provide logistical and intellectual support to the organisation of SWAC events in the West Africa region.
