Moscow, 31 May-2 June 1999
On 31 May-2 June 1999, the OECD, under the auspices of the Centre for Co-operation with Non-Members, held a policy forum on corporate governance in Moscow. Its objective was to raise awareness of Russian officials responsible for investor-protection legislation, to better understand the role of corporate governance in the future development of enterprises; and provide them with a set of tools--the OECD Corporate Governance Principles--for benchmarking and gauging progress in corporate governance. A synthesis note summarises the main points brought forth by participants during the discussion.
