Arab Countries' National GfD Co-ordination Committees
|
At the national level, country delegates participating in the Regional Working Groups are supported by National Co-ordination Committees promoting country level co-ordination and co-operation. These National Co-ordination Committees are usually headed by a representative from a Ministry and often include national policy experts from a variety of fields. They are an interface between the regional policy dialogue and governance policies and reforms at the national level.
The National Co-ordination Committees' tasks are to:
| • |
Ensure country-level co-ordination and co-operation as well as a whole-of-government approach to governance policies and reforms;
|
| • |
Ensure the design and timely implementation of National Action Plans;
|
| • |
Mobilise support from different parts of society;
|
| • |
Promote ownership of and commitment to the GfD Initiative.
|
The National Co-ordination Committees are a key lever for supporting the Cabinet and the Ministries of Arab countries in linking the regional policy dialogue to the formulation and implementation of whole-of-government Country Action Plans on the national level.
