Seminar on Local Partnerships, Triana, Albania, 22-23 April 2004

The results of the first phase of a project launched in 2003 to build partnerships for local development in Albania and Kosovo (Serbia and Montenegro), were presented in this seminar held in Tirana on 22-23 April 2004. This is a joint activity of the LEED Programme and the European Training Foundation. The strategic plans of two pilot partnerships, in the municipalities of Lezha (Albania) and Kamenica (Kosovo) were analysed.  The project involves mentoring by Irish and Italian partnerships (OAK Partnership and Corleonese Alto Belice).

A meeting will be held in Pristina in the early autumn to focus on the progress made by the Kamenica partnership.  The project is a success so far and is due to expand to other countries in 2005-2006 within the framework of the OECD LEED Trento Centre for Local Development.
