For the first time at OECD, representatives of three main stakeholder groups – business, trade unions, and environmental NGOs – are invited to participate in part of the Ministerial Meeting. They will participate in Session 1 on “Assessment and reporting: Are we on track for implementing the OECD Environmental Strategy” and in the working lunch on 20 April to discuss “OECD’s role in implementing the Johannesburg Plan of Implementation”.
In addition, a Consultation between Ministers and stakeholder representatives will be held on the afternoon of 19 April 2004. The topics of discussion are:

Climate change and energy.

Globalisation, trade and environment.

Decoupling and resource efficiency.

Technology innovation to address environmental challenges.
