The DAC Network on Gender Equality is working on a range of initiatives relating to the implementation of the Paris Declaration on Aid Effectiveness (2005), the Accra Agenda for Action (2008) and the Busan partnership for effective development co-operation (2011):
Monitoring aid effectiveness and gender equality
An optional module was developed to provide a gender equality dimension to the progress being tracked by the 2011 Survey on Monitoring the Paris Declaration. Twenty-four of the developing countries that undertook the Paris Declaration Survey chose to also pilot the survey’s gender equality module.

Gender equality at the 4th High Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness
At the Busan High Level Forum (29 November-1 December 2011) stakeholders supported the Busan Joint Action Plan for Gender Equality and Development. The OECD is one of the partners to the Joint Action Plan.

The purpose of issues brief 1 is to assist programme managers and thematic advisors in donor agencies to make linkages between the overarching commitments of the Paris Declaration on Aid Effectiveness and work on gender equality and women’s empowerment. It examines each of the five principles of the Paris Declaration and how these relate to work on gender equality and women’s empowerment.
