Increasing ethnic and cultural diversity presents opportunities as well as challenges to countries and educational systems. Issues arise of language and multicultural education, of combating prejudice in the majority population, and facilitating integration. At the same time, the challenges faced by indigenous population groups are often strikingly different from those of new immigrants. The project on Education and Diversity project has two strands of activities: migrant education and indigenous education.
