Following the success of the first three editions, the OECD Centre for Effective Learning Environments (CELE) plans to publish a new compendium of exemplary educational facilities.

The 4th Compendium will cover all levels of education and address how the design, use and management of buildings and grounds contribute to the quality of education. The categories for competition are innovation in design, fitness for purpose, sustainability and safety. The institutions selected will be presented in a publication and a subsequent exhibition with full-colour photographs, plans and descriptions.

Submissions

CELE Board Participants’ members and associate members and OECD delegations will co-ordinate the identification of facilities from their respective countries and send up to five nominations to the CELE Secretariat. The deadline for submissions has been extended to 29 January 2010. Entries received by this date from countries not participating in CELE or the OECD will also be considered for pre-selection by the Secretariat.

Sponsors

CELE is currently seeking sponsors to support the production of the publication. Sponsors benefits include:

  • a full- or multiple-page advertisement in the book, which will be disseminated to all CELE member countries and associate participants;
  • acknowledgement as a sponsor in the book and in exhibitions throughout the world.
