Current Health Division analytical projects

The OECD Health Division analyses health systems' performance and studies policy options to address shortcomings in performance. The Division is currently undertaking the following analytical projects:

In addition, the Health Division carries out work on health
data and indicators (more), and country reviews.

 

Country reviews

The Health Division published OECD Reviews of Health Systems, which represent in-depth studies of the health system of member countries, with a particular focus on economic issues.

 

The Economics Department also examines health care systems as part of Economic Surveys.

 

The OECD Project (2001-2004)

The three-year OECD Health Project investigated ways to improve the performance of OECD health systems. The results of the Health Project were discussed by OECD Health Ministers at their first-ever meeting at the OECD on May 13-14, 2004. A final report Towards High-Performing Health Systems was disseminated at the meeting. Ministers also mandated the OECD to carry out future work on health. The Health Project covered several topics, including:
