Abrar Hasan presentation

Teachers are central to student performance and make up a large part of the school budget. The evolution of the knowledge society, globalisation and other major socio-economic trends are placing new demands on the profession and countries are facing major concerns related to many aspects of policies dealing with the supply of effective teachers. The OECD conducted a major 25-country study of teachers’ policy culminating in the publication: Teachers Matter: Attracting, Developing and Retaining Effective Teachers. This presentation will review the main findings and conclusions for good policy practice from this study, which focuses exclusively on the situation in OECD countries.
