Geographical Distribution of Financial Flows to Aid Recipients
This database provides comprehensive data on the volume, origin and types of aid and other resource flows to over 180 recipient countries, including countries in transition in Eastern Europe.
The data cover:
- net and gross disbursements;
- commitments;
- the sector/purpose allocation of bilateral Official Development Assistance and Official Aid (ODA/OA) commitments;
- prime indicators for developing countries; and
- DAC country Deflators (2004 = 100);
for over 180 developing countries, territories and countries in transition. The aim has been to present a comprehensive record of the external financing of each country shown.
The data are shown for each recipient country by:
- DAC Member countries (individually or as a group);
- Multilateral agencies (individually or as a group);
- EC & European Union Members as a group;
- Other donor countries as a group.
Also included is data presenting basic economic reference information for recipient countries. The data are expressed in US dollars. The data cover the period 1960 onwards.
The resource flow data shown are based on records that are comprehensive for the majority of the individual categories shown. The omissions are essentially as follows:
- Private sector flows from non-DAC donors.
- Grants by private voluntary agencies, for which no geographic breakdown is available.

Creditor Reporting System
Contains database on
- Individual official Development Assistance (ODA) commitments from Development Assistance Committee (DAC) Members;
- Flows from multilateral agencies (regional banks) to developing countries, and
- Commitments of official aid to countries in transition.
The commitments are grant and loans reported by each Member country to the OECD/World Bank's Creditor Reporting System. For each commitment, information is provided on source, recipient, the amount and type of financial flow, interest rates where applicable, the grant element, commitment date, sector code and purpose description, local costs, and technical cooperation.
Data is available from 1973 to 2005 (partial data for the year 2006 are also included). 20,000 to 30,000 commitments are reported each year.
The data is presented in thousands of US-dollars using the annual average exchange rates. Visit the Creditor Reporting System web site for more information.
DAC Online (Development Co-operation Report:
Statistical Annex)
The OECD Development Assistance Committee (DAC) is the primary forum where bilateral donors meet to discuss their aid programs and issues related to aid to developing countries. The annual report of the DAC Chairman, Development Cooperation Report, contains extensive statistical information on donor country aid volumes and types, and that data is now available separately. The CD-ROM includes all the tables included in the annex as well as the last DAC List of Aid Recipients used for statistical purposes and a glossary of key terms and concepts.
View the Reference DAC Statistical Annex Tables web site for more information.
