13 March 2008, Meeting of Trade Union and OECD experts on Green Jobs: A Driver For Climate Change Solutions
The purpose of the meeting was to take stock of the situation for green jobs ahead of the upcoming meeting of the OECD Council at Ministerial Level (MCM) 4-5 June 2008 and the G8 Summit 7-9 July 2008. It allowed trade unions and their institutional partners to assess progress on promoting green jobs as part of global efforts to address climate change. The meeting provided an opportunity to consider how the OECD’s work on climate change might contribute to future trade union strategies regarding climate change in light of the new information contained in the OECD Environmental Outlook released 5 March 2008.
Presentations available:
- The OECD Environmental Outlook to 2030, Kumi Kitamari, Counsellor and Communications Manager, Environment Directorate
- Climate change, energy and employment: The Green energy plan for 2030, Jerry van den Berge, Policy Adviser, Federation of Dutch Trade Unions
- Green Jobs and Climate Change Solutions, Cornis van der Lugt, Business & Industry Unit, UNEP
