Land, Conflict and Development: What Role for Donors?

An informal experts' seminar co-organised by the OECD Development Centre, the Secretariat of the Development Assistance Committee and the US Agency for International Development on the topic of "Land, Conflict and Development: What Role for Donors?" was held at OECD Headquarters, Paris on 19-20 June 2003.

Participants formulated preliminary guidance on how donors can best incorporate land issues in their policy frameworks for the management and mitigation of conflict, and proposed next steps to further advance this agenda.

Terre, conflit et développement: quel rôle pour les agences d'aide?

Le Centre de Développement et le Secrétariat du Comité d'Aide au Développement de l'OCDE ont organisé conjointement avec l'Agence pour l'Aide Internationale des Etats-Unis un séminaire informel d'experts sur le thème "Terre, conflit et développement: quel rôle pour les agences d'aide?", au siège de l'OCDE, à Paris, les 19 et 20 juin 2003.

Les participants ont formulé des propositions sur la façon dont les bailleurs pourraient mieux prendre en compte la dimension foncière dans le cadre de leurs politiques de gestion et de prévention des conflits. Ils ont également envisagé les modalités d'une poursuite de la réflexion sur ce thème.
