About REPIN
Regulatory Environmental Programme Implementation Network - REPIN (previously known as NISECEN - NIS Environmental Compliance and Enforcement Network) is the main mechanism for dialogue and exchange of experience between senior environmental policy-makers from environmental ministries and managers/practitioners from environmental enforcement agencies in the EECCA region.
Since the Network is open to the participation of officials and experts from the OECD and CEE countries, it facilitates know-how transfer and donor assistance to EECCA countries. Representatives of NGOs and industry are invited to the Network meetings as observers and are engaged in relevant activities.
The Network holds annual meetings to discuss and agree on the Work Programme, specific projects and monitor their implementation. The work programme implementation involves institutions from the EECCA region, in particular New Regional Environmental Centres (NRECs), to carry out specific analytical, training and dissemination activities.
The REPIN is a Member of the International Network for Environmental Compliance and Enforcement - INECE.
The REPIN work also draws from, and where appropriate contributes to, activities of other international programmes, including EU's Enforcement Network - Impel, the Environmental Compliance anf Enforcement Network for Accession- ECENA and the UN/ECE work on Environmental Performance Reviews and Environmental Monitoring.
