Health as a Tracer Sector (HATS)

Three of the eight Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) relate directly to health: MDGs 4, 5 and 6. Health is also an important component of all the other MDG targets. Whilst some progress has been made in achieving the health MDGs, much more needs to be done to improve the health status in developing countries.

Through a significant body of work and literature it has been demonstrated that more progress will not be acheived without changed behaviour of people and groups in line with the Paris Declaration. OECD Aid Effectivenes work aims to track, promote and report on progress in Health as a Tracer Sector (HATS).
