Berlin, 14-15 May 2009
The Eurasia Competitiveness Programme was invited by the Südosteuropa-Gesellschaft and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Osteuropakunde (DGO) to participate in its international conference on the Black Sea region: New challenges and opportunities for regional co-operation, held in Berlin on 14-15 May 2009.
The conference covered the following topics:

historical antagonisms and approaches to co-operation

the Black Sea region in the view of supra-national actors and international organisations

comparative analyses from countries in the region (including Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova, Turkey, Armania, Azerbaijan, the Russian Federation, Ukraine and Georgia)

the way ahead for Black Sea co-operation
Fadi Farra, Principal Administrator and Executive Manager of the OECD Eurasia Competitiveness Programme, participated in the panel discussion on the view of international organisations of the Black Sea region.
