New challenges and opportunities for regional co-operation in the Black Sea region

Berlin, 14-15 May 2009

 

The Eurasia Competitiveness Programme was invited by the Südosteuropa-Gesellschaft and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Osteuropakunde (DGO) to participate in its international conference on the Black Sea region: New challenges and opportunities for regional co-operation, held in Berlin on 14-15 May 2009.

 

The conference covered the following topics:

  • historical antagonisms and approaches to co-operation
  • the Black Sea region in the view of supra-national actors and international organisations
  • comparative analyses from countries in the region (including Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova, Turkey, Armania, Azerbaijan, the Russian Federation, Ukraine and Georgia)
  • the way ahead for Black Sea co-operation

Fadi Farra, Principal Administrator and Executive Manager of the OECD Eurasia Competitiveness Programme, participated in the panel discussion on the view of international organisations of the Black Sea region.
