The Inter-American Development Bank and the LEED Programme

The Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) through its Special Office in Europe is a full member of the OECD LEED Programme since 2001, working jointly on activities to foster entrepreneurial, social and local development in Latin America and the Caribbean.  The Andean Development Corporation (CAF) joined the LEED Programme as full participant in 2005 to promote local economic and employment development in the region.  Both organisations are represented in the Directing Committee.

Sixth Annual REDGOB Meeting - Call for Papers

The X Inter-American Forum on Microenterprise, San Salvador, El Salvador, 3-5 October 2007
This year, the IADB is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Microenterprise Forum. Over the last 10 years, the microenterprise development sector has changed as has the methodologies of institutions and agencies dedicated to working with this important segment of the labor force in the region. The key commitment and objective of the Forum on Microenterprise is to facilitate the exchange of experiences and good practices for providing development services to microenterprises. For more information on the event, including agenda, please visit de Forum's website or contact foromic@iadb.org.

EUROMIF Workshop on "Sustainable Approaches to Poverty Alleviation & Private Sector Development", Paris, 8 November 2006
Seminar co-sponsored by the Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF) and the World Research Institute (WRI), aims at a broader involvement of the private sector in wealth creation at the Base Of the Pyramid (BOP), and a deeper understanding of the Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) beyond Corporate Social Responsibility, highlighting "bottom line" aspects.

Conference on "Decentralisation as a Tool for a New Local Governance", Paris, 27-28 June 2005 
This two-days event was organised by the Ecole Nationale d'Administration (France) and the Inter-American Development Bank, in collaboration with the OECD LEED Programme.  Information is available in French and Spanish only.

Workshop on "Fostering Development through Entrepreneurship, Clusters and Local Initiatives", Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, 29 April 2005 
This event was organsied by the OECD LEED Programme in collaboration with the Inter-American Development Bank. Over 120 participants from the Caribbean Rim took part in the discussions and shared their expertise on entrepreneurship and local economic development issues.
