Sixth workshop hosted by the Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation (APEC) and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)
Pucon, Chile, 24-25 May 2004
The APEC-OECD Co-operative Initiative on Regulatory Reform provides a forum for multidisciplinary policy discussion to deepen understanding of regulatory reform as a vector for stimulating economic productivity and growth.
The sixth workshop focused on two aspects. First, it went further on the development of the OECD-APEC Integrated Checklist for Regulatory Policy as a tool to implement the APEC Principles to Enhance Competition and Regulatory Reform and OECD’s Principles on Regulatory Reform, particularly the trade policy aspects. The discussions built on the agreements reached during the APEC-OECD Workshops held in October 2003 in Vancouver, Canada and in December 2003 Paris, France. Second, it shared ideas and experiences with trade-and-investment-related aspects of regulatory reform in APEC and OECD economies.
For further information on the results of the Initiative please consult the 2003-2004 programme of work and schedule of events for 2004.
