Presentation of the Latin American Economic Outlook 2008 in Bern - 11 March 2008

The Latin American Economic Outlook 2008 was presented in Berne, on March 11, hosted by the Swiss Agency for Development Cooperation (SDC) within its "Traverse"  series of conferences on relevant development economic topics.The Director of the OECD Development Center, Javier Santiso, built on the report's main conclusions to deliver a presentation on “Globalisation, Development Financing and “Chindia” in Latin America”. Jean-Pierre Villard,Swiss Ambassador to Guatemala, commented on the report, highlighting that the international community needs to pay more attention to the growing divide within Latin American countries, both between regions and different ethnic groups. Marco Ferroni, Executive Director of Syngenta, also discussed the reports' main findings.
