The Secretariat has updated and extended the tariff data on the list of environmental goods appearing in Annex 2 of Environmental Goods and Services: benefits from further global trade liberalisation (OECD, 2001). Annex 2 listed HS codes and bound and applied tariffs for two groups of OECD countries and a group of emerging economies. The bound and applied tariff rates, by country, for the 14 markets appeared in Annex 3 of the 2001 publication.
In the same way, the Secretariat has now gathered together the most recent applied tariff rates available (usually for 2001), as well as the end-of-Uruguay Round bound rates, for an expanded list of 35 economies (counting the EU as 1). These have been grouped into six categories for purposes of providing an overview of average tariff rates, which appears in the table below.
