The annual meeting of the Regulatory Environmental Programme Implementation Network (REPIN) in Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia (EECCA) will be organised in Brussels on 13th March 2007. The discussions will focus on the findings and recommendations of a draft review of environmental compliance assurance systems in EECCA.
Particular attention will be paid to the qualitative assessment of progress in light of the need to establish a better set of environmental compliance and enforcement indicators. Also conclusions from selected pilot projects (e.g. in Georgia, Moldova, Kazakhstan, and Ukraine) implemented within the REPIN network, will be presented.
Following this segment of the annual REPIN meeting, an international multi-stakeholder workshop “Environmental Policies, Instruments, and Institutions in EECCA: The Emerging Agenda” will be held on the 13-14 March, back-to-back with the 5th Joint Meeting of the EAP Task Force and Project Preparation Committee (PPC).
