Mr. Julio Iglesias de Ussel - Secretary of State (Spain)

   


JULIO IGLESIAS DE USSEL is Secretary of State for Education and Universities at the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports since May 2000.

He is Professor of Sociology at the University of Granada, where he has been at the Faculty of Political Science and Sociology during eight years. He had previously been elected twice Director of the Sociology Department of his University.

He has over a hundred researches and publications on Social Structure, Family, Education, Mass Media, Culture and Studies on Women. He was on the Research Team of the “5th Sociologic Report on the Social Situation in Spain” (1995) and among his latest publications are: “Sociologic Report on the Social Services of the Church in Andalucía” (1999); “Family and Political Change in Spain” (1998); “Evaluation of Research in the University of Granada” (1995); “The Influence of Television and Andalusian Teenagers” (1994); “Couples and Marriages. Attitudes, Behaviours and Experiences” (1994).

He is member of the Academy of Social Sciences of Andalucía (Seville), of the Royal Academy of Moral and Political Sciences (Madrid) and of the the “Académie Européenne des Sciences, des Arts et des Lettres” (Paris).
