The purpose of a Booklet is to make the case for adopting a strategic approach to developing national statistics, mainstreamed within policy processes such as Poverty Reduction Strategies and sectoral approaches. It demonstrates why governments, society generally and the international community need good statistics and why a strategic approach is beneficial.
