Antonio Gustavo Rodrigues is currently the head of the financial intelligence unit and AML/CFT financial policy agency of Brazil: the Council for Financial Activities Control. Prior to assuming that role in 2004, he was the Deputy Secretary of International Affairs at the Ministry of Finance.
In 2006 he was the President of GAFISUD, the FATF Style Regional Body for South America.
Gustavo has worked closely with multilateral organizations for over twenty years, representing the interests of the Brazilian government in work with the IMF, World Bank, United Nations and OECD, among others.

He has also participated in Brazilian delegations involved in international initiatives relating to trade and the environment, including the Mercosul, the Free Trade Area of the Americas, the Ozone Trust Fund and the Montreal Protocol.
In addition to his expertise in anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing, Gustavo has worked for the World Bank in Washington DC, providing legal support to loans and projects in Latin America and the Caribbean. He has also worked in the private sector where he has experience with international financial transactions.
