Conference on Higher Education at a Time of Crisis: Challenges and Opportunities
Copenhagen Business School, Denmark, in co-operation with OECD/IMHE
The conference will debate questions of supply and demand, costs and income in higher education and will analyse the role and responsibility of higher education institutions and how to transform these challenges into opportunities.

Higher Education in Regional and City Development - Roundtable meeting to take stock of progress made in cities and regions involved in the OECD Review, OECD, Paris
The aim of this roundtable meeting is:

to provide opportunities for shared learning between the regions and their HEIs and for networking between the regional co-ordinators

to provide opportunities for regions to give feedback from the regions on how to make the review process more meaningful

to discuss issues linked to human capital development, regional innovation and capacity and partnership building
-
to identify ways to maintain the growing international network of HE and regions
-
to share ideas for the forthcoming third round of reviews

to introduce new regions that have joined to process or are planning to do so

What Works on Quality Teaching in Higher Education, Istanbul Technical University, Istanbul, Turkey
This conference will explore the policies and strategies designed and implemented by institutions to promote the quality of teaching, the linkage between quality of teaching and learning outcomes and the impact of the national policies and initiatives aimed at improving the quality of teaching in higher education. Through workshops and interactive sessions it aims to highlight effective quality initiatives and mechanisms and at encouraging reflection on practices that may in turn help other institutions to improve the quality of their teaching and, in so doing, the quality of programmes and of the learning outcomes. The conference is intended for institutional leaders, faculty academic members and researchers, representatives of quality assurance agencies and bodies dealing with quality teaching as well as for students.

Higher Education Spaces and Places: for Learning, Innovation and Knowledge Exchange, Riga, Latvia, organised with CELE
The conference will explore developing trends in higher education and how the built environment will need to support these changes. With a focus on developing sustainable higher education environments, the aim of the conference is to share knowledge on good practice and innovative facilities for learning, innovation and knowledge transfer environments. It will also explore the impact of the relationships with the local and global communities on the spaces used for knowledge transfer.
