Annual inflation in the OECD area at 3.5% in January 2008

05/03/2008 - Consumer prices in the OECD area rose by 3.5% in the year to January 2008 compared with 3.4% in the year to December 2007. On a monthly basis, the price level rose by 0.2% in January, unchanged compared with December.


Consumer prices for energy increased by 13.7% year-on-year in January, compared with a rise of 12.0% in December. Consumer prices for food were up by 5.1% year-on-year in January, compared with 4.9% in December. Excluding food and energy, consumer prices rose by 2.0% in the year to January compared with 2.1% in December...etc.
