What is the economic outlook for Europe, the United States and Japan? An interim assessment

Two months ahead of the publication of the OECD’s next “Economic Outlook”, Jean-Philippe Cotis will present an interim assessment of the situation in Europe, the United States and Japan. The briefing will take place at OECD headquarters, 2 rue André Pascal, Paris 75016.

The briefing will be in French. English interpretation will be provided.

Financial crisis: Save our savings

Amid the worst current financial crisis since the 1930s, EU leaders have pledged to protect savers’ deposits. Already most OECD countries have explicit deposit insurance schemes for savings up to certain limits. In a number of countries these have now been raised temporarily.
