Accommodation and Services 

In partnership with Suite Voyage, reduced rates have been negotiated for hotel rooms (up until 8 June 2009), airport transfer service and excursions (Paris and surrounding area).

  • To book transport from the airport or an excursion around Paris, please complete the details on the hotel reservation form.

In order to play our part in respecting the environment, Suite Voyage and the OECD Forum have included, among the hotels offering preferential rates to Forum participants, several which are committed to an eco-friendly approach or meet some ecological and sustainable criteria. Vélib is a self-service “bike hire” system available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There are multiple pick-up and drop-off locations which allow you to hire your bike from one service point and return it to another. Consult the Vélib website for more information and a list of Vélib stations.

 

Travelling to France 

Visa requirements

European Union citizens do not need a visa to travel to France.

For other travellers, depending on nationality, length and purpose of stay in France, a visa may be required.  The visa needs to be obtained before departure; for more information, please consult the French Foreign Affairs Ministry website.

Paris airports

There are 2 airports in the Paris area.  North of Paris is Paris Charles de Gaulle (Paris CDG) airport, the largest airport and most often used for international flights. South of Paris is Paris-Orly  airport.

Connection between the airport and the Paris city centre:

 

RATP has 3 dedicated bus lines for travel to and from the major airports around Paris: Orly et Roissy Charles de Gaulle. See their website for more information about these bus lines, as well as alternative itineraries by public transport for travelling to and from the airport. 

 

Air France coaches are at your service with 5 regular bus lines taking you to and from the airports.  Please see their website for more information.  

Travelling to Paris by train

Paris can be reached by 2 high-speed international trains:

  • Thalys - for travellers from Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands
  • Eurostar - for travellers from the United Kingdom
