Forecasts from Energy Policies of IEA Countries- IEA online database
This database contains forecasts for 26 IEA countries. Energy balances are provided for supply and consumption in million tonnes of oil equivalent (Mtoe). Definitions of products and flows, explanatory notes on the individual country data, indicators (including GDP and population) are included. In general, data are available for 1960, 1970, 1980, 1990, 2000, 2010, 2020 and 2030 (see expanded product description for more detail on forecast availability). A table on electricity capacity is also given for 2004 to 2030. This service is updated in July each year.
The database contains four files: energy balances, coal supply, electricity capacity and economic indicators.
The first file (energy balances) contains data on the supply and consumption of coal, oil, gas, electricity, heat, combustible renewables and waste. The figures are expressed in million tonnes of oil equivalent. In general, data are available for 1960, 1970, 1980, 1990, 2000, 2010, 2020 and 2030. Intervening years between 1960 and 2000 are available in Energy Balances of OECD Countries.
The second file (coal supply) contains data on production, imports and exports for coking coal, other bituminous coal, sub-bituminous coal, lignite, peat and secondary coal products. Sub-totals for hard coal and brown coal are also provided. The figures are expressed in million tonnes of oil equivalent.
The third file (electricity capacity) contains data on the total installed electricity operating capacity as of the 31st of December. Data are provided in gigawatts (GW) for 2004, 2010, 2020 and 2030. Where available, information is given on capacity currently under construction, authorised and site confirmed, other planned capacity, conversion to other fuel, and decommissionning.
The fourth file (economic indicators) presents the indicators which appear in the publication. It provides the following indicators: GDP, population, TPES/GDP, Energy Production/TPES, Per capita TPES, Oil Supply/GDP, TFC/GDP and Per capita TFC. Time series are generally available for 1960, 1970, 1980, 1990, 2000, 2010, 2020 and 2030.
