09/05/2006 - The OECD will publish its Economic Outlook, containing the latest economic analysis and projections for major world economies, at 11.00 a.m. Paris time (09.00 GMT) on Tuesday 23 May 2006.
The OECD's Chief Economist, Jean-Philippe Cotis, will present the Outlook at a news conference at the French Foreign Ministry, 37 Quai d’Orsay, Paris 7ème, at 11.00 a.m.
The news conference, broadcast live on the OECD's website, takes place on the opening morning of the OECD’s two-day Council Meeting at Ministerial Level. The Outlook will be available in English, French and German on the OECD's password-protected website from 11.00 a.m. Paris time for immediate release.
Separate news briefings with OECD economists will be held via videoconference the same day for journalists based in Berlin, Mexico City and Tokyo (timetable available shortly).
Journalists wishing to attend the Economic Outlook news conference must complete the online registration form for the Ministerial meeting at: www.oecd.org/mcm2006/. The news conference will be in French with English interpretation.
The annual Council Meeting at Ministerial Level takes place at the French Foreign Ministry, Paris on 23 -24 May 2006. Ministers from OECD countries will discuss economic and trade issues under the theme of “Delivering Prosperity”.
An advance media briefing about the Ministerial meeting, presented by Greek Finance Minister George Alogoskoufis and OECD Secretary-General Donald Johnston, will be held at 11.00 a.m. on Monday 15 May at OECD headquarters, 2 rue André Pascal, Paris 16ème.
Practical information
Journalists will be allowed advance access, on request, to an electronic version of the Economic Outlook by e-mail and under embargo, four hours ahead of release time. The text will be sent by e-mail on request only. In making such requests, journalists are asked to give an undertaking to respect the embargo. Requests to receive the survey by e-mail under embargo or to obtain a password to access the website should be sent by e-mail to Nicole Le Vourch , OECD’s Media Division. Printed copies of the Economic Outlook can be mailed to journalists, on request, on the day of publication.
