Biography

Yoshiko Matsumoto-Izadifar is an Economist in the Business for Development Unit of the OECD Development Centre. Since September 2005, she has been working on the topic of aid for trade and agro-based private sector development in Africa, particularly on Ghana, Mali and Senegal.

Prior to joining the Development Centre, Yoshiko has worked as a development consultant for JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency). Her responsibilities included planning, execution, and supervision of  Official Development Assistance (ODA) projects in West Africa, with a focus on primary education and primary school teacher training, focusing. She has also engaged in policy analysis on national education development, poverty alleviation-related social development, and donor coordination and harmonization.

Yoshiko holds a M.A. in Development Economics and Political Economy from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University, in Massachusetts, United States.
