Description (Aim & Needs):

- Money Wise Program

The “Chalaad Ru Ruang Ngern” curriculum series, or “Money Wise” curricula, is specially developed for Thai teachers and trainers to transfer knowledge to the above target groups. The curricula foster a good attitude towards good practices in personal financial management and covers the basic fundamentals. The training provided by these curricula is hence designed to help participants develop necessary skills in the classroom so they can apply those skills in real life.

Objectives:

• To develop a localized personal financial management curricula, targeted at trainers from ten Thai community colleges and, in the future, target trainers/teachers from schools, universities and communities.

• To build capacity for the ten Thai community colleges in teaching personal financial management to their students and communities.

• To distribute knowledge on personal financial management to the public, especially in the less economically-developed provinces in which the community colleges are located

• To exhibit GE Money’s corporate social responsibility through financial support and through volunteering of its employees.

Project Model

• Curriculum development by a team of K.I.Asia experts. All curricula developed by K.I.Asia will be interactive, practical, and, above all, relevant to learners’ daily lives.

• Pilot Training. Each curriculum is delivered and tested with real members of the target groups before it is revised, refined, and finalized.

• Training of Trainers. To ensure that each curriculum will continuously be delivered, a team of K.I.Asia experts and trainers deliver train-the-trainer sessions to school and community college trainers. Since the quality of the teachers and trainers vary, the curriculums are designed to accommodate even those who have very little knowledge or academic background in personal financial literacy.

• Co-Training. After each trainer attends a train-the-trainer session, they are required to go back to their educational institution and deliver at least one training to the target groups in their community.
