Bio: Paula Bruening

Paula Bruening, Deputy Executive Director of the Centre for Information Policy Leadership and Senior Policy Advisor for the law firm of Hunton & Williams

 

At the Centre, Ms. Bruening works on domestic and international information privacy and security policy matters, with a special focus on new approaches to information governance, issues raised by emerging technologies, and cyber-security.  Most recently she has worked closely with ministries in emerging economies on information policy and she serves on the Center for Strategic and International Studies Commission on Cyber-security for the 44th Presidency.  Previously she was Senior Attorney Advisor for the U.S. Department of Commerce where she advised the Clinton White House on issues related to telecommunications and development of global information networks and commerce. She was also Senior Policy Advisor to the congressional Office of Technology Assessment where her work and publications focused on intellectual property protection for software, data privacy and network security
