The publication " Main Economic Indicators" (MEI) presents comparative statistics that provide an overview of recent international economic developments for OECD countries and selected non-member countries.

This indispensable and unique source of key short-term statistics is a vehicle for analysis for corporate planners, economists, academics, researchers and students. Using the most up-to-date, user-friendly graphical and tablular presentation, the indicators cover national accounts, business surveys and consumer opinions, leading indicators, retail sales, production, construction, prices, employment, unemployment, wages, finance, foreign trade and balance of payments.

The products

Paper Publication
The short-term indicators in MEI paper publication are presented in two ways:

  • by subject (Part One) where the emphasis is on comparative data for key statistical series for OECD member countries.
  • by country where a comprehensive range of short-term economic indicators for OECD Member countries, the Euro area and non-member countries are presented.

CD-Rom
The CD-Rom contains additional information not available in the paper publication, such as extra business survey and leading indicator series, considerably more detailed balance of payments data and longer time series for most of the indicators.
