Lucia Wegner joined the Development Centre in November 2001, as Associate Expert. She is currently working on the African Economic Outlook Report.
Prior joining the OECD, Lucia worked as a Research Associate in the Treasury department of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and as Project Officer at the Development Co-operation Office of the Italian Embassy in Hanoi (Vietnam), coordinating and monitoring projects financed by the Italian ODA (Official Development Assistance).
She has also worked at UNCTAD, Geneva and at the UN Division for Sustainable Development, New York.
Her research interests include microfinance, commodity risk management and collateralised finance.
She gives on a regular basis a cycle of lectures on African Economies at the Master on International Economics, University Paris 1, Pantheon, Sorbonne (Sept-Dec 2006), and being a visiting professor for 2 days course at university Bocconi, Milan, Master in Development Economics, University of Pavia, and Polytechnic of Mantova
