Traineeships at the Turkish Delegation to the OECD

The Permanent Delegation of Turkey to the OECD is offering traineeships for Turkish students.

Traineeships are unpaid and offered for two terms, 15 April -15 June or 15 September-15 December, and for two trainees at most during each term.


Requirements for the candidates:

  • Turkish citizenship (Dual citizenship is also acceptable)
  • Studying full time in the field of economy or in another discipline related to the different areas of work of the OECD (social affairs, trade, agriculture, development, education, employment, environment, finance, fiscal affairs, statistics, and law, among others)
  • Submission of an academic paper or a published article, if any
  • Proficiency in English and/or French and ability to draft texts in one of these languages (presentation of a valid certification of the language proficiency will be an advantage)
  • Capability of working as part of a team


Some examples of work:

  • Participate in OECD meetings, such as accompanying a Delegation staff member
  • Search documents and analyse existing work in a particular area
  • Gather, organise and evaluate information
  • Keep record of notes and participate in the drafting of reports


Conditions:

  • The Delegation does not offer accommodation. Therefore trainees are expected to cover their own expenses, including housing.
  • Trainees are required to have full health insurance covering their entire stay in France for the traineeship.


If you are interested in a traineeship at the Delegation, and if you have the required profile, please send an e-mail to nesibe.aran@mfa.gov.tr together with a letter in English or French explaining the basis of your interest in such a traineeship, not later than 1 March 2008 for the first term and 1 July 2008 for the second term.

Applications will be evaluated and the applicants will be informed of the outcome.

OECD World Forum on Statistics, Knowledge and Policy

In June 2007 some 1200 people attended in Istanbul the OECD World Forum on Measuring and Fostering the Progress of Societies. They had in-depth discussions on the measurement of progress, as well as some of the most important concerns facing the world, such as climate change, health and globalisation.
