Annual inflation in the OECD area rebounds to 2.2% in September 2007

30/10/2007 - Consumer price indices in the OECD area rose by 2.2% in the year to September 2007 compared with 1.8% in the year to August 2007. On a monthly basis, the price level rose by 0.3% in September, after a fall of 0.1% between July and August.


Consumer prices for energy increased by 3.4 % year-on-year in September, compared with a fall of 1.3% in August. Consumer prices for food were up by 3.4% year-on-year in September, compared with 3.2% in August. Excluding food and energy, consumer prices rose by 1.9% in the year to September, after a rise of 2.0% in August 2007...etc.
