OECD annual inflation rate broadly stable at 3.2% in August 2011

04/10/2011 - Consumer prices in the OECD area rose by 3.2% in the year to August 2011, compared with 3.1% in the year to July. The broad stability in the headline rate reflected stable inflation in all major components of the CPI. Energy price inflation remained stable at 13.5% in the year to August while food prices rose by 4.6%, slightly up from 4.5% in the year to July. Excluding food and energy, the annual inflation rate rose by 1.8% in August, compared with 1.7% in July.
