Consultations with Civil Society

FORUM: Good Jobs/Bad Jobs: Myths and Realities?

Greater interchange between governments and civil society is a key to achieving a better employment record. The Forum, which will be taking place on Monday 29 September 2003 in conjunction with the Labour Ministerial Meeting (see the Agenda for details)), will provide one such opportunity. The Forum is an international conference offering business and labour representatives, academics, government ministers and leaders of international organisations the opportunity to discuss, together, how to move "Towards more and better jobs".

The Forum is unique because participants have the opportunity to make direct input into and help shape the outcome of the Ministerial Meeting. Mr. Frank Vandenbroucke, Minister for Employment and Pensions, Belgium, will chair the Forum, and Mr. François Fillon, Minister of Social Affairs, Labour and Solidarity, France, will provide OECD ministers with the main messages from the Forum discussions.

Consultation with BIAC and TUAC

The consultation will enable representatives of the Business and Industry Advisory Committee (BIAC) and the Trade Union Advisory Committee (TUAC) to present their views on the topics to be discussed by Ministers during the Ministerial meeting. The meeting will be chaired by Mr. François Fillon, Minister of Social Affairs, Labour and Solidarity, France.
