Henno Theisens

Analyst

Henno Theisens is currently leading the CERI project on Markets in Education; this is an international project on the use and effects of market mechanisms in the governance of education systems. He is also contributing to the Teacher Education for Diversity project; focusing on the ways in which teachers can be prepared for the increasingly diverse student populations of today’s classrooms.
Until recently he has been working on CERI’s long standing project Schooling for Tomorrow, a project that developed future oriented thinking for education. Henno worked on trend analyses, scenario development and a number of themes with long term relevance for education (like demand sensitivity in schooling and the future of the teaching workforce).

Before joining CERI he worked as a Senior Research Associate at the Centre for Higher Education Policy Studies (Netherlands) mainly in the area of higher education policy and management both through consultancy in Central & Eastern Europe and Africa and contract research.

Henno Theisens holds a Ph.D. in Comparative Higher Education Policy Research from University of Twente (Center for Higher Education Policy Studies, CHEPS), an M.Sc. in European Politics and Policy from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and an M.A. in Public Policy and Public Administration from the University of Twente.
