OECD-Ukraine Forum on Investment and Enterprise Development: Inaugural Meeting

Kyiv, 21-22 February 2002

Further to the OECD's Investment Policy Review of Ukraine at the request of the Ukrainian authorities, it was decided during the Kyiv Roundtable meeting in February 2001 to establish the OECD-Ukraine Forum on Investment and Enterprise Development.

The objective of the Forum was to foster an open and inclusive dialogue on investment issues among the international investment policy community and the Ukrainian decision-makers with a view to supporting Ukraine's efforts to effectively implement policy reforms aimed at improving the investment climate for domestic and foreign investors.

This inaugural meeting, co-organised by the OECD and the Ministry of Economy and European Integration of Ukraine, aimed to discuss the overall OECD-Ukraine co-operation, to assess progress made by Ukraine in investment and enterprise reforms and to consider further follow-up actions.

In addition to the OECD Secretariat, donor Member countries and an inter-ministerial Ukrainian team, the inaugural Forum meeting brought together representatives of international and regional organisations, foreign and domestic private sector companies and associations as well as representatives of civil society groups.
